We are a certified Eco-Lighthouse

We are proud to announce that Lustrabaatane has been Eco-Lighthouse certified, a testament to our focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. We stand together for a greener future.

UN's Sustainable Development Goals for sustainable development

The Sustainable Development Goals are the world's joint action plan to eradicate poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. In 2015, the UN's Millennium Development Goals expired and were replaced by the Sustainable Development Goals. The UN's Sustainable Development Goals are “the new” plan towards 2030.

Our sustainability goals

In our operations, we focus particularly on these sustainability goals:

Innovation and infrastructure

Our operations in the World heritage fjords are subject to some of the most strictest environmental requirements in the world. New and even stricter requirements are in the pipeline, and we will of course align ourselves with these requirements to contribute what we can to achieving this goal.

Responsible consumption and production

The vast majority of vessels run on MGO, which has a maximum sulfur content of 1000ppm. Since our inception, Lustrabaatane has chosen to use dyed diesel in all our vessels. Dyed diesel has a sulfur content of 5-7ppm, thus significantly reducing SOx emissions.

In addition, dyed diesel contains a blend of BIO-diesel, which further reduces emissions. The diesel we use is of the same quality as that used in passenger cars. We shut down the engines and connect to shore power whenever possible.

Life below water

"Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development". Nothing shall be thrown overboard from our vessels. We will be considerate and drive carefully in areas where erosion is a challenge.
