We are certified Environmental Lighthouse
We are proud to announce that Lustrabaatane has been Eco-Lighthouse certified, a testament to our focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. We stand together for a greener future.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The SDGs are the world's common work plan to eradicate poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. In 2015, the UN's Millennium Development Goals expired and were replaced by the Sustainable Development Goals. The UN's Sustainable Development Goals are the "new" plan up to 2030.
Our sustainability goals
In our operations, we have a particular focus on these sustainability goals:
Innovation and infrastructure
Our operations in the World heritage fjords are subject to some of the most strictest environmental requirements in the world. New and even stricter requirements are in the pipeline, and we will of course align ourselves with these requirements to contribute what we can to achieving this goal.
Secure consumption and production
The vast majority of vessels run on MGO which has a maximum sulfur content of 1000ppm. Since we started, Lustrabaatane has chosen to use colored diesel in all our vessels. Colored diesel has a sulfur content of 5-7ppm, and SOx emissions are thus significantly reduced.
In addition, the colored diesel has a blend of BIO-diesel which further reduces emissions. The diesel we use is of the same quality as that used in passenger cars. We shut down the machines and stay on shore power when possible.
Life underwater
“Conserve and use oceans and marine resources in a manner that promotes sustainable development.” Nothing shall be thrown overboard from our vessels. We shall exercise caution and drive carefully in areas where erosion is a challenge.
